The Dental Practice Manager is responsible for managing all non-clinical aspects of the practice to deliver outstanding patient care, achieve financial targets, and ensure smooth operation of the team and facility.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day practice operations, including scheduling, administration, and patient flow.
Lead, supervise, and support all non-clinical staff; manage recruitment, induction, and ongoing training.
Implement and maintain practice policies, standards, and protocols to ensure compliance with health and safety, data protection, and industry regulations.
Manage patient experience by handling complex queries, overseeing the complaints procedure, and updating patient communication materials.
Maintain financial oversight, including budgeting, payment processing, billing, payroll, and cash management.
Oversee supply chain, including ordering dental and office supplies and managing equipment maintenance.
Organise and chair regular team meetings and staff appraisals, fostering teamwork and professional development.
Develop marketing strategies and engage in community outreach to attract and retain patients.
Liaise with external suppliers, dental laboratories, and service providers as needed.
Prepare and present financial and operational reports for senior management or practice owners.
Skills and Qualifications
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Excellent organisational, communication, and customer service skills.
Proficiency with dental software and business administration tools.
Knowledge of dental industry regulations, compliance, and patient confidentiality requirements.
Financial management and budgeting experience.
Experience
Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role within healthcare or dental practice management is preferred.
Experience in business, HR, or office administration is an advantage
