The Dental Clinic Portishead is a long-established boutique Dental Practice in
Portishead, Bristol.
We provide specialist dental treatments as well as general and cosmetic in a
beautiful clean, modern and friendly environment.
We require a dental practice manager with excellent references and a history of
success to take responsibility for the smooth and efficient running of our
practice.
The manager is expected to ensure that the practice is up to date with the
current regulatory requirements such as CQC and will be expected to
undertake the role of CQC Registered Manager.
The area of the responsibilities includes the following aspects of the practice:
Personnel management:
Undertake recruitment, arrange staff induction and
training, monitor staff hours, performance review and appraisals, dealing with
disciplinary and grievance arrangements, holding regular staff meetings.
Finance:
Take responsibility for all banking procedures, ensuring correct
patient payment collection and recovery of the debts, checking the accuracy of
invoices and bills and arranging payments via the accountant
Patients:
To be the champion of our patient experience. Ensure all systems are
in place and the team are trained and highly motivated to deliver the clinical
and non-clinical care to the high standards that our patients have come to
expect. Comply with regulations in terms of patient complaints.
Administration:
Keep all practice documentation, manuals and policies up to
date, and implemented by the whole team. Excellent management of IT,
facilities and marketing is also required including demonstrating experience of
success
Equipment, Materials and Health and Safety: Liaise with sales and suppliers'
reps as necessary, audit and review practice orders in view of costs and service
levels, setting up an efficient stock control, ensuring that the practice complies
with health and safety requirements and ensuring that the practice equipment
is serviced and maintained.
Other:
Provide the practice owners with daily and weekly reports on agreed
KPIs.
Candidates need:
A strong record of management in dentistry and a clear understanding of clinical/dental terminology, procedures and regulations.
Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
Excellent people skills, able to deal with patients, staff and contractors with a calm, empathetic approach.
Excellent follow-up ability on all tasks, effective delegation skills and be results driven.
21st Century IT skills.

Clear DBS check
Clinical training and GDC registration may be of benefit in this role. The base
salary will be dependent on experience.

Schedule: Monday to Friday between the operational hours of 8.15am-
17.00pm based on a 2 week rota
Week 1 Thursday and Friday (which are fixed days ) with the third agreed day to meet our operational requirements
Week 2 Monday and Thursday (which are fixed days ) with the third agreed day to meet our operational requirements, these hours are not variable
