Dental Therapist /Hygienist - Spixworth Dental Practice

Spixworth Dental Practice is looking for a friendly, dedicated Dental Therapist to join our welcoming team. We are seeking someone who is passionate about delivering excellent patient care, communicates clearly and kindly, and feels confident providing a wide range of dental treatments.

The position is for

Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays

.

Key responsibilities include:

Evidence-based periodontal care

Deliver comprehensive periodontal assessments (including appropriate charting and risk assessment) Provide non-surgical periodontal therapy, tailored maintenance plans, and supportive periodontal care Use evidence-based protocols to guide treatment planning, recall intervals, and outcomes monitoring

Routine hygiene patient management

Manage a full diary of routine hygiene appointments and continuing care patients Provide scale and polish, stain removal, and personalised prevention plans aligned to patient needs Identify and escalate concerns appropriately, supporting smooth clinical handovers when required

Examinations and clinical care within scope

Carry out clinical examinations within your scope of practice Provide restorations as appropriate (where applicable to your role and competency) Maintain clear, accurate clinical notes, consent, and treatment documentation

Oral health education and prevention

Deliver tailored oral hygiene instruction and behaviour-change support Provide dietary advice, smoking cessation signposting, and long-term prevention strategies Support anxious patients with calm, confident communication and reassurance

Requirements:

Qualification as a Dental Therapist recognised by the GDC. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care and professionalism.
