Dental Therapist
Job Description
As a Dental Therapist, you will be essential in delivering high-quality dental care and promoting oral health within the community. Reporting to the Lead Dentist, your role involves performing preventive and therapeutic procedures, utilizing your core knowledge of anatomy. Your premium skills in CAD and medical imaging will enhance treatment planning and patient outcomes. Additionally, your relevant skills will support patient education and collaboration with the dental team, ensuring a comprehensive approach to dental health. Scaling and polishing teeth
Applying fluoride and fissure sealants
Providing fillings in both deciduous and permanent teeth
Extracting deciduous teeth (where appropriate and licensed)
Assess patients' oral health and develop appropriate treatment plans in collaboration with dentists
Deliver oral health education and advice to individuals and groups
Promote preventive dental care and maintain dental hygiene awareness
Keep accurate and up-to-date clinical records
Work in compliance with infection prevention and control standards
Ensure all procedures comply with relevant regulations and professional guidelines
Refer patients to dentists or other specialists when more complex care is required
Support community dental outreach programs where applicable
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of human anatomy and dental structures Proficiency in CAD (Computer-Aided Design) for dental applications Experience with medical imaging techniques and technologies Ability to communicate effectively with patients and dental teams Understanding of dental hygiene practices and preventive care Relevant certifications in dental therapy or related fields
