The Role
As a
Department Quality Engineer
, you will drive quality excellence across our operational and project activities. Working as part of the QSHE Risk and Assurance Directorate, you will support teams in enhancing their Quality Management System processes and guide on quality-related improvements that elevate organisational performance. You will investigate non-conformances, identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and oversee inspections both on-site and at supplier locations.
Additionally, you will:
Support projects throughout the delivery lifecycle with quality guidance
Ensure quality requirements are built into product specifications and designs
Define and communicate supplier QA/QC requirements
Monitor compliance with UKAEA and ISO standards
Conduct surveillance and inspections at UK and international supplier sites
Qualifications
To be considered as a Department Quality Engineer, you will need:
Experience managing quality assurance and control activities within a highly regulated industrial engineering setting
Extensive knowledge and experience of Quality Methods with the ability to drive to the root cause of specific concerns
Experience of auditing internal processes and external suppliers
Experience in system quality level and component QA grading
Knowledge and experience of ISO9001 based quality management systems and awareness of ISO14001 and ISO45001
A degree or equivalent in an engineering or technical discipline
