About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Departmental Administrative Coordinator to join the Biology department within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences.
Your main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating and delivering departmental administrative processes to support teaching, learning, and research, ensuring compliance with Faculty and University policies and providing excellent customer service to staff, students and stakeholders.
  • Leading on the collation, input, checking, and reporting of student assessment data, ensuring accuracy and timeliness for Assessment Boards, including boards for international partners
  • Provide administrative and organisational support to the Head of Department, Departmental Administration Manager, and academic staff, including managing Grade 3 administrative staff, overseeing key departmental events, and acting as a main contact for internal and external queries
Please note there are two positions available one Full Time (36.25 hours per week) and Part Time (18.13 hours per week).

About You
As Departmental Administrative Coordinator, you will have:
  • Proven experience in departmental administration within Higher Education, with strong organisational, prioritisation, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a customer focused approach and the professionalism to liaise confidently with internal and external stakeholders
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to manage sensitive data in compliance with GDPR
  • Ability to work proactively, both independently and as part of a team, in a busy environment while meeting deadlines and maintaining excellent service standards
