Role Details
An opportunity has arisen to join the Engineering Team. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join and support the Engineering team and provide general assistance in the maintenance of the depot and tram infrastructure with regard to routine maintenance, minor remedial repairs, cleanliness, vinyling, painting, gritting and vehicle daily maintenance. You will report into the Depot Manager and the Assistant Depot Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Routine checks of plant, equipment and vehicles. This includes the first line maintenance of company vehicles, sand and wash plant, e.g. refueling, checking gauges and levels and cleaning.
Undertaking minor repairs to the depot building.
Site cleanliness and implementing seasonal weather plans, e.g. gritting/snow clearance in the winter and painting damaged infrastructure in the summer.
Tram vinyling and removal.
Painting, indoors and outdoors.
Any other duties that may be associated with the main tasks of the post.
The Role
The role is full time, averaging 40 hours a week, working over 7 days.
There will be nightshift working as part of this role.
About you
Minimum requirements for this role are:
You must hold a valid UK drivers licence with no more than 3 points.
Solid experience in DIY, demonstrating strong practical skills.
Flexible approach to work and tasks.
Ability to cope with competing demands and at times work under tight deadlines.
Experience of a Trade would be desirable.
