Job Title: Depot Manager - Powered Access Hire

Location: Southampton Depot

Hours: 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday (occasional flexibility required)

Salary: 40,000 - 45,000 basic + bonus, company car, laptop

Start Date: Available immediately (we are prepared to place the current manager on garden leave for the right candidate)

Smart Platforms is looking for a driven and experienced Depot Manager to lead our Southampton depot. This role is critical to ensuring smooth operations, maintaining high service standards, and supporting the growth of the depot.

Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day depot operations in close cooperation with the hire desk and fleet department.

Lead, support, and develop the depot team to achieve performance targets.

Monitor costs, budgets, and depot P&L performance.

Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety, and LOLER requirements.

Build and maintain strong customer relationships, resolving queries efficiently.

Drive service quality and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Proven depot, branch, or operations management experience (plant hire or powered access desirable).

Strong leadership, organisational, and people management skills.

Commercial awareness with the ability to make effective decisions.

Good knowledge of health & safety and compliance processes.

Full UK driving licence.
