On-Site Manager

- Delivery Driver Business (Pegasus Couriers)

4 days on 3 days off (Wednesday to Saturday)

155 basic per day ranging up to 180 based on performance bonus

Role Overview

The On-Site Manager oversees day-to-day operations at a Pegasus Couriers depot based in Inverness, managing a team of about 50 delivery drivers and support staff. The manager is responsible for team leadership, route planning, and customer service, ensuring timely and efficient parcel delivery that meets the highest operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

Team Management

: Supervise and support delivery drivers and admin staff, managing rotas, annual leave, training schedules, and absence relief. Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching, and handle return-to-work interviews.

Route Planning & Coordination:

Allocate delivery routes using company software to ensure efficiency and customer satisfaction. Coordinate daily assignments and respond to operational adjustments as needed.

Operational Oversight:

Oversee inventory, cost controls, and service delivery targets. Conduct regular audits of vehicle maintenance and route compliance.

Customer Experience:

Resolve customer complaints, document feedback, and communicate delivery updates to clients. Champion positive customer interactions to maintain company reputation.

Reporting:

Provide regular statistics on performance, customer satisfaction, route compliance, and training outcomes to higher management.

Continuous Improvement:

Identify workflow inefficiencies, suggest and implement operational improvements, and support best practices throughout the team.

Qualifications & Skills

Preferred managerial experience in logistics, courier, or delivery business supervision (previous courier manager/warehouse manager experience preferred). Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building abilities. Proficient with route planning software, fleet management, and basic MS Office Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills; able to manage a fast-paced environment and competing priorities. Attention to detail with a focus on safety, compliance, and customer service. UK driving licence, able to travel between multiple locations if needed. Willingness to work flexible hours, nights, weekends, and holidays as required by business demands. Free parking access
