We are seeking a depot Supervisor to join our dynamic team in Nottingham! The role helps to ensure the smooth running of the depot and is involved in delivery and warehousing at each site. You'd be working closely with the Depot Manager and would be their relief, so we are looking for someone with drive and ability to step up into that role whilst learning our business and operation. This role is offered on a full-time permanent basis.

You'll need in depth knowledge of final mile delivery and warehouse picking operations with at least 2 years' + experience in a Supervisory role. Able to pick up WMS systems and routing systems, with excellent Excel and Microsoft key package knowledge.
You'll be a confident communicator , hot on health and safety and take pride in ensuring that the depot under your supervision and all the staff and drivers are achieving our key performance indicators. Managing staff, dealing with enquiries and planning and organising are key activities to ensure that no two days are the same and we seek to improve wherever we can.

Role description:
To help ensure the smooth running of the Nottingham depot. Operational hands on role.
Other duties will include making sure the company vehicles are maintained and kept up to date with servicing. To ensure compliance with all H&S regulations and Company Policy. It is mandatory to be flexible for travelling between the two Vision sites. He/she should have an intuitive ability to clearly communicate their ideas at all levels in the organization and to external customers. A firm grasp of key performance indicators, their collation, interpretation, and presentation.
Key responsibilities:
Ensure that the depot and all staff, contractors and visitors adhere to Health and Safety and that the depot and vehicles are compliant with all Health and Safety regulations
Routing, Customer Service, Reporting (Internal & External), Administration of Vison WMS & DispatchTrack Systems
To motivate and encourage excellence within staff
Driver supervision (Including Timesheets, Appearance/Uniforms, Documentation) Ensuring optimum use of resources & drivers. To ensure the efficient and productive routing for all drivers.
The implementation of driver training and a strong understanding of Caldicott training and records. To ensure compliance with DBS, DVLA Checks, Manual Handling, and other Company policies and procedures.
Vehicle Supervision (Including Insurance, Check Sheets, Fuel, Maintenance/Damage) Ensuring optimum use of resources & hiring/de-hiring vehicles
Ensure he/she has a good knowledge of the MID database
Documentation/Paper/POD control. Ensure compliance with GDPR within staff and depot.
Managing information or general administration support
Monitoring, evaluating and reporting Depot KPI's
Ensure the depot is up kept and required maintenance carried out
Be on call and be a key holder in case of emergency callouts
Be able to step into any role and be trained in every department e.g. warehouse, loading vans, covering runs in cases of sickness.
General supervisory tasks such as petty cash reconciliation at month end, Fuel invoicing checks, updating PO log, ordering uniform, consumables etc.
Hold full staff monthly meetings.
Ensure the Health & Safety of all staff, contractors and visitors on site.
Recruiting (of direct-reporting staff)
Assessing and apprising (direct-reporting staff)
Planning and organizing depot workloads
Evaluating and decision-making
Understanding of financial budget
Ensure all depot checks and warehouse checks are conducted in accordance with procedures
Responsible for remaining within the depot's financial budget, achieving budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analysing variances and initiating corrective actions
Responsible for the warehouse work load, weekly cycle counts, and the stock integrity as well as MDR regulations.
Raising PO's
Time sheets and payroll
Portal queries/customer queries
What you'll need:
In-depth Knowledge of transport and warehouse operations with at least 2 years' experience
PC literate in WMS, Trafficking system, Word & Excel
Be confident in using a 3.5-ton van (Company Vehicle)
CPC National (Not Essential)
