Deputy Autism Coordinator

Fareham, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

The SEND provision at Crofton school is recognised as providing excellent personalised learning for all our students. We are looking for an exceptional colleague to join our highly motivated team working as our Deputy Autism coordinator.

Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of autistic individuals? We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Deputy Autism Coordinator to support and enhance our autism resourced provision 'The Croft'. In this pivotal role, you will work closely with the Autism Coordinator to develop inclusive strategies, provide support to staff and students, and ensure our practices reflect the latest thinking in autism education and support. We are looking for someone who is:

Proactive - able to take initiative and drive continuous improvement.

Innovative and creative - able to think outside of the box to develop engaging, person-centred interventions.

Flexible and resourceful - with a passion for incorporating outdoor learning, interest-based approaches such as Dungeons & Dragons, and other life skills-based activities that resonate with learners.

Highly organized - with strong administrative skills to manage documentation, communication, and coordination effectively.

Experience with administration relating to EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans) and funding processes would be desirable but is not essential - we are committed to supporting the right candidate to grow in this area.

Crofton is a friendly and ambitious school, excited about the future of education and determined to become 'Exceptional'. In a move to achieve this, we joined the HISP Multi Academy Trust in April 2023. If you can nurture and support individual students whilst having the flexibility and confidence to find ways to help them engage with their learning, then this could be the post for you.

Crofton School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment. References will be taken up for those candidates short-listed for interview. The successful candidate will be subject to Disclosure and Barring Service checks along with other relevant employment checks.
