Role: Deputy CEO - Fundraising, Impact & Communication

Reporting to: CEO

Salary: 35,000FTE

Hours of work: 25-30 hours per week, up to 40% hybrid working

Core Purpose:



The Deputy CEO plays a crucial role in supporting the strategic development and operational effectiveness of the charity. Working closely with the CEO, this role is responsible for leading all bid writing, developing funding opportunities and growing our provision via these opportunities.

This hands-on role involves leading all aspects of bid writing, including the collecting, showcasing and reporting of impact data.

You will be instrumental in supporting the CEO with strategy, development, and our key events.

Specific areas of responsibility and key tasks:



Bid Writing & Fundraising



Lead all bid writing activities to secure funding from trusts, foundations, and big funders. Develop larger-scale funding bids to enhance and expand the charity's services. Identify and pursue new funding opportunities to sustain and grow the charity's impact. Ensure a successful bid writing programme is adhered to all year round, providing LCH with the best chance of successful outcomes.

Impact & Data Management



Collect and analyse key impact data from all our provision to measure effectiveness and inform future strategies. Seek feedback and qualitive data from all partners, which can help lead our strategy and improvement. Ensure compliance with funders' requirements through detailed reporting and evaluations. Showcase our impact through a communication strategy.

Communications & Marketing



Lead our external freelance digital creator. Oversee external communications, including Mail Chimp campaigns, social media strategy, and content creation using Canva. Manage digital and physical outputs to strengthen public engagement and awareness.

Strategic Support & Development



Work with the CEO to develop our long-term strategy, ensuring alignment with the charity's mission and goals. Be instrumental in the development and success of the charity and where it is heading. Contribute to the improvement and modernisation of systems and working, always seeking even better ifs.

Event Management & Public Engagement



Support the CEO fully with all events as required, delivering assemblies, presenting and speaking publicly, providing extra hands when workload is high and relentless. Assist in building relationships with our school partners, corporate supporters and other key stakeholders.

We are looking to find a person that matches the following:



Person Specification



Essential:



Proven experience in bid writing and fundraising, with a track record of securing grants.

Strong understanding of impact measurement, data collection, and grant reporting requirements.

Ability to work strategically and develop long term plans that achieve positive results and outcomes.

Excellent organisational, administration and IT skills.

A compassionate, kind and friendly person with a can-do attitude, who radiates positivity.

Can remain calm under pressure and is solution focused.

Desirable:



Experience managing communications across multiple platforms, including social media, email campaigns, and physical materials.

Knowledge of Canva, Mail Chimp, and digital marketing strategies.

Strong networking and relationship-building abilities.

Due to the nature of the position there will be occasions where work will need to take place outside of the normal working hours, the charity has a flexible working policy to support this type of work, with time off in leiu being provided.
