This is an exciting opportunity within a developing and fast-growing wraparound childcare provider. This delivery-based role will play a pivotal role in achieving our future growth plans within ACE Kids.
The Deputy site lead role will be part of the team that deliver our wrap around childcare services on a daily basis at one of our locations. The Deputy site lead will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the club and leading activities in our Active Childcare settings, the role will also require you to lead the site in the absence of the site lead.
This is a delivery-based role that will be based at a particular venue with occasional requirements to cover at clubs in nearby locations.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Activity Design -
Assist the Site Lead in planning and coordinating the programme of activities across all ACE Kids services, ensuring alignment with the Fun, Learn, Movevalue proposition. Contribute creative ideas to enhance session delivery and support in adapting activities to meet the diverse needs and abilities of all children.
Food Preparation -
Oversee and support the preparation and serving of food to children, ensuring adherence to the Food Safety Policy at all times.
OFSTED & Compliance -
Complete all mandatory training including Safeguarding, Food Hygiene, and First Aid. Support the Site Lead in ensuring the site meets OFSTED requirements by maintaining accurate records, following safeguarding procedures, and promoting a culture of safety and compliance among the team.
Delivery of Activities -
Lead and supervise high-quality physical and creative sessions that reflect the Active Experienceoutlined in the ACE Kids mission statement.
Customer Service -
Act as a key point of contact for parents and carers, supporting the Site Lead in managing daily communication and addressing queries or feedback professionally. Build positive relationships with children and families to create a welcoming and inclusive environment.
Site Operations Support -
Assist the Site Lead in overseeing the setup, delivery, and pack-down of the club each day, ensuring all health, safety, and cleaning responsibilities are completed to the highest standard. Support with daily checks, stock control, and reporting of any site or equipment issues.
Skills and Qualifications:
Experience Working with SEN Children - Proven experience supporting and engaging children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Able to adapt activities, communication, and environment to ensure inclusivity and positive participation for all children.
SEN Support - Knowledge of implementing and following SEN support strategies, including differentiation, individual care plans, and working collaboratively with parents, carers, and external professionals to meet individual needs.
Customer Service Skills - Ability to model excellent customer service and support the team in maintaining high-quality interactions with children, families, and colleagues. Sensitive to the diverse needs of families, including those requiring additional support.
Communication Skills - Strong verbal, written, and digital communication skills. Able to clearly convey information to team members, children, and parents, maintaining accurate records and reports. Skilled in adapting communication style for different audiences, including children with SEN.
Personal Organisation / Time Management Skills - Able to support the Site Lead in managing daily operations, schedules, and activity planning efficiently and proactively.
Activity Planning & Leadership - Proven ability to plan, lead, and adapt engaging activities for children aged 4-12, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility. Experience incorporating ACE Kids' Fun, Learn, Move philosophy and maintaining a safe, supportive environment for all participants, including those with additional needs.
Activity Leadership Experience (Desirable) - Experience leading groups of children, managing behaviour positively, and mentoring junior staff in activity delivery, with a focus on inclusive practice.
Teamwork - Able to work collaboratively as part of a team, supporting colleagues, resolving challenges, and promoting a positive, inclusive culture within the site.
Safeguarding Knowledge (Desirable) - Understanding of safeguarding procedures, including recognising and responding to concerns, and supporting the team in maintaining a safe environment for all children, including those with SEN or additional vulnerabilities.
Childcare Experience (Desirable) - Experience working in a childcare or educational setting, demonstrating knowledge of age-appropriate activities, child development principles, and inclusive practice.
Childcare qualification (Desirable)
Paediatric First Aid (Essential - training can be provided)
