We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Children's Home Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective day-to-day running of the residential home in the absence of the Home Manager. They will lead a team of staff, undertake direct work with children when necessary, and ensure that all aspects of the residential premises are managed effectively.

Overall Purpose of Job:


To be responsible for the effective day-to-day running of the residential home in the absence of the Home Manager, to lead a team of staff, and ensure the care and welfare of each child in placement.

Key Responsibilities:



Undertake a lead role in ensuring the care and welfare of each child in placement and the overall development of the home. Give guidance and support to all Senior and Residential Workers. Supervise designated members of staff and record supervision sessions.

Key Tasks:



In Support of Key Responsibility 1:

Support the Registered Home Manager in ensuring compliance with company Policy and Procedures and meeting all OFSTED regulations. Deputize for the Registered Manager in their absence, ensuring the home runs to a high standard. Safeguard and promote the welfare and development of the young people. Ensure the individual needs of the young people are recognized and met. Develop and maintain good working relationships with parents, social workers, schools, and other professionals.
In Support of Key Responsibility 2:

Ensure all staff act in a professional manner and adhere to policies and procedures. Ensure all staff comply with duty rotas and read the Daily Logbook. Report any issues regarding Child Protection matters immediately to the Registered Manager. Ensure staff maintain confidentiality at all times.
In Support of Key Responsibility 3:

Ensure all staff under supervision undertake and complete training. Complete on-call duties as required. Conduct supervisions with senior support workers. Compile a rota to meet occupancy levels.

General Responsibilities:



Attend meetings and training as required. Create a pleasant working environment. Be aware of Health and Safety regulations. Be flexible with working hours to suit the needs of the home. Undertake any other duties reasonably requested. Safeguard and promote the welfare of children. Adhere to and promote the Company's Equalities, Inclusion, and Diversity Policy.

Qualifications and Experience:



Previous experience in a residential childcare setting. Relevant qualification in childcare, social work, or a related field. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage and supervise staff effectively. Commitment to promoting the welfare and rights of children and young people.
