Job Description

As Residential Deputy Manager, the post holder will assist the Senior Shift Leaders and Registered Manager in the day-to-day functions of the home and care programmes for young people. This will be across two homes and working standard office hours.

To enhance and effect change to the good of all children with whom they work with by acquiring the necessary skills through their own training and development.

Job Summary



1.

To provide support to children to enable each individual to live in the community and to participate in community/personal activities.

2.

To work alongside the manager and co-ordinate the activities of the home.

3.

To carry out and monitor all necessary administration to ensure all paperwork meets the required standard set out by the company and CIW.

Duties/Responsibilities



1.

To have or gain a good understanding of RISCA relating to care homes for children.

2.

To liaise regularly with the Manager on all aspects of running the home.

3.

To monitor staff performance and be aware of staffing issues and be able to resolve them where appropriate.

4.

To liaise with outside agencies and other professionals.

5.

To carry out the role of primary worker to individual children.

6.

To ensure that all daily tasks are being carried out.

7.

To be responsible for adhering to the

'whistle blowing'

policy and reporting concerns.

8.

To assist in carrying out staff supervisions and to attend one's own supervisions.

9.

To ensure that all children's information is kept confidential and only passed on to other professionals on a need to know basis.

10.

To contribute to arranging, attending and chairing team meetings.

11.

To monitor, reorder and administer medication in accordance with in house policy and procedure.

12.

To monitor and check petty cash and residents monies on a daily basis if needed ad to ensure that receipts for expenditure are obtained.

13.

To supervise and support residents develop their personal skills in order to be able to transition at a later period to independent living.

14.

To carry out the role of Manager in their absence.

15.

To carry out all other reasonable duties that may be required from time to time.

Organisational



1.

To undertake broadly similar duties with the level of the post as required by the Manager.

2.

To fulfil Health & Safety responsibilities.

3.

To work within the provisions of the Data Protection Act, observing strict confidentiality in relation to all aspects of work undertaken.

4.

The post holder will be expected to undertake training and development deemed necessary for the pursuance of the post

5.

The post holder will be expected to competently use electronic systems effectively

6.

The post holder will be expected to ensure to comply with Equal Opportunities Policy and Procedure in all employment practices

7.

The post holder will be expected to comply with the no smoking policy in place and ensure that Health and Safety is observed in the course of employment

8.

Ensuring compliance with safeguarding procedures, throughout all work within the Company, keeping the manager informed of work in progress and inform the manager immediately of any child protection matter or serious complaint.

9.

The nature of the agency business means that tasks and responsibilities are sometimes unpredictable. Staff are therefore expected to work flexibly when the occasion arises where tasks, which are not specifically covered in the job description, have to be undertaken.

10.

On occasion, travel to other

MIDWAY TRANSITIONAL SOLUTIONS LTD

offices may be required to attend induction, training, meetings or to provide cover.
