Position: Deputy Clerk reporting to The Clerk (who is also the Responsible Financial Officer)
Salary: 60% of SCP 37 (pro rata).
Hours: Part time at 27 hours per week.
Pension: Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) with 20.5% employer contributions.
Annual Leave: 5.8 weeks, plus Bank Holidays.

Armthorpe Parish Council is seeking to appoint an innovative, forward thinking and proactive Deputy Clerk, with good communication skills to be an active member of the management team, supporting the Parish Clerk in ensuring the Council achieves its targets and aspirations.
Armthorpe Parish Council is a hardworking and forward-thinking organisation. Its primary purpose is to serve its Parishioners and to enhance the life of the village. The successful candidate will be expected to embed themselves in the community and work with the existing team to improve the ever-expanding delivery of events and projects.
The role part-time 27 hours per week and will involve supporting, working with and deputising for the Clerk to the Council. The role will also include acting as Proper Officer to the Council when the Clerk is absent and the post holder will provide independent objective and financial advice to the council.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate that they have relevant experience; a track record of service achievement, be motivated, proactive and flexible in approach. The successful applicant will need to be available to work some evenings and occasional weekends and work additional hours in the absence of the Clerk.

The Deputy Clerk will be a team player but able to work on their own without close supervision and able to show initiative when required. Training will be provided to the post-holder, with opportunities for continuing professional development in multiple areas.
There will be some evening and occasional weekend work. The salary is 60% of the Clerk's salary LC3, (SCP37) pro rata.
