Simply Out of School is a well-established company providing breakfast, after school, wraparound, and holiday clubs for primary school children. We're looking for a motivated and organised individual to join our head office team as a Deputy Club Manager, supporting the oversight and smooth running of the company. As Deputy Club Manager, you will assist the Club Manager and senior management team in ensuring the clubs operate to a high standard, meet all safeguarding and regulatory requirements, and provide a fun, safe, and engaging environment for children.
Job Overview
As a Deputy Club Manager, you will be an integral part of the management team, helping to create a welcoming, engaging, and vibrant environment for both families and staff. You will support the Club Manager in leading a motivated team, ensuring the smooth running of daily operations with energy and efficiency. Your role will involve assisting with staff supervision and training, supporting day-to-day operations, managing resources, and contributing to the overall success of the club, helping it remain a trusted and enjoyable destination for all.
Hours & Pay
Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm (40 hours per week). Some flexibility may be required beyond contracted hours; any additional hours will be agreed with senior management and compensated accordingly.
30-minute unpaid lunch break.
Rate of pay: 13.50 + per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
3-month probationary period.

Qualifications and Experience:
Relevant childcare qualifications and experience are required. Management qualifications are desirable.
Training:
Paediatric first aid and safeguarding training are advantageous but not essential.
Driving License:
A full driving license is essential for this role.
Additional Requirements:
The role involves travel between different club settings, attending meetings at various locations, and occasionally covering staff in clubs.
Additional Information
Ongoing training and DBS checks required.
Two references will be requested if successful.

Key Responsibilities
Support the Club Manager and Head Office team in the overall management and strategic development of the clubs.
Assist in the day-to-day running of multiple club settings, ensuring smooth operations and high-quality provision.
Help ensure all clubs operate in full compliance with CIW and Ofsted regulations and the National Minimum Standards.
Support preparation for and participation in CIW/Ofsted inspections; in-house training will be provided if needed.
Lead, support, and motivate a team of playleaders and playworkers, assisting with supervision, effective communication, and professional development.
Foster positive and proactive relationships with headteachers, school staff, and partner schools, supporting collaborative working practices.
Provide excellent customer service to parents and carers, including assisting with queries, resolving issues, managing accounts/fees, and offering family support when required.
Support safeguarding and child protection initiatives, ensuring concerns are managed appropriately and in line with company policy and local authority procedures.
Assist in building and maintaining effective relationships with external professionals and agencies, including local childcare teams, Clybiau Plant Cymru, training providers, safeguarding teams, and SEND support services.
Contribute to the management and development of the Head Office admin team, ensuring strong communication between office and club settings.
Help create and maintain professional written communications -- including emails, letters, reports, and operational forms -- for use across the organisation.
Support the management and monitoring of club bookings, registers, attendance, and occupancy levels via the company's booking system.
Assist with recruitment tasks, including job adverts, interviews, inductions, staff file setup, and ongoing staff training and appraisals.
Help monitor and maintain health and safety, food hygiene, and risk assessment standards across all club settings.
Support new club openings or transitions, ensuring consistency and quality across sites.
Contribute to marketing, social media, and community engagement initiatives to promote the clubs.
Regularly visit club sites to support staff, monitor standards, and ensure compliance and quality.
