We are seeking a Deputy Manager to support with the running of our children's holiday club. The candidate will act as a Senior Playworker during most shifts, and deputise as manager now and again (expected half a day every other holiday).
Duties
as Senior Playworker
Support the manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the club, ensuring smooth functioning and high standards of service.
Manage and motivate staff, including supporting with training.
Maintain health and safety standards in compliance with legal regulations.
Ensure cleanliness, organisation, and presentation of all club areas are maintained to a high standard.
Provide first aid to children.
Welcome and dismiss children using the register.
Support the deputy safeguarding lead or the designated safeguarding lead to deal with safeguarding issues.
Act as key worker for small number of children .
Manage behaviour, lead activities and prepare food.
Duties
as a deputy manager
Act as fire warden during emergency evacuations
Unlock and Lock up
Monitor first aid supplies and liaise with the club owner if more stock is needed
Direct and manage staff, ensuring they follow policies and procedures.
Deal with safeguarding concerns with support from the deputy safeguarding lead or the designated safeguarding lead.
Make operational decisions such as what activities to do, when to go outside, etc.
Use the club phone to speak to parents
Requirements
Full paediatric first aid qualification
Good leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
2 years Experience working with children
Job Types: Permanent, Zero hours contract
Pay: 14.24 per hour
Expected hours: 10 - 35 per week
