ambitious Deputy Design Manager
from an
architectural or architectural technician background
to join our team at Calderdale Royal Hospital. This is a unique opportunity to support the delivery of a vital public facility while developing your design leadership skills.
THE ROLE
As Deputy Design Manager, you'll work closely with our experienced Design and Delivery teams to manage and coordinate architectural design information. You'll ensure everything aligns with our rigorous programme, buildability standards, and technical expectations - while always keeping the patient experience in mind.
You will:
Support the development, review, and coordination of design packages
Engage with architects, consultants, and contractors to manage design outputs
Help ensure that solutions are compliant, buildable, and aligned with client requirements
Support technical reviews, design meetings, and quality assurance activities
Gain experience in leading on statutory compliance, design change control, and handover documentation
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
We're looking for someone who:
Comes from an architectural or architectural technician background - circa 5 years experience
Has experience working with design consultant teams (e.g., healthcare, education, or public sector schemes)
Understands how to review, manage, and coordinate multidisciplinary design packages
Can support the team in developing optimised, sustainable, and compliant design solutions
Has a desire to grow into a senior design leadership role
