Deputy Design Manager - Architect - Healthcare

Laing O'Rourke is looking for a

Deputy Design Manager

to join our team on the landmark

Monklands Replacement Hospital

project in Glasgow.



This is a unique opportunity to help deliver a nationally significant healthcare facility that will serve generations to come. You'll be contributing to a major project that leverages cutting-edge digital tools, modern construction techniques, and collaborative design thinking.

? What you'll be doing:

Supporting the Design Manager in leading multi-disciplinary teams across architecture, civil and structural engineering, MEP, and clinical planning Coordinating the development of integrated design solutions across workstreams Engaging closely with consultants, internal stakeholders, and construction teams to ensure design intent is realised Contributing to the implementation of modern methods of construction (MMC) and digital design processes Helping drive technical excellence, collaboration, and innovation across the project lifecycle

We're looking for someone who:

Has experience supporting or managing design on large, complex projects - ideally in the healthcare or public infrastructure sectors Comes from an architectural background, with a good grasp of multi-disciplinary coordination Understands the design process across RIBA stages and can manage technical information efficiently Is proactive, detail-focused, and thrives in collaborative environments
