Spinwell is recruiting for a Deputy Finance Business Partner for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE DEPUTY FINANCE BUSINESS PARTNER

  • Overall responsibility for the day to day management of the Business Partner Accountant team, organising, planning and prioritising both personal and team members workload to meet objectives and deadlines.
  • Provide senior Finance support to the Business Partner Accountant, Decision Support Accountants and other senior members of the Urgent Care Division team, to aid achievement of the overall objectives of the Health Board, undertaking regular meetings with delegated budget holders.
  • Provide timely consolidated divisional financial reports to managers, including graphical illustrations, as part of the monthly and annual reporting processes.
  • Manage the year-end financial accounting requirements for the delegated areas of responsibility to set deadlines.
  • Lead on the development and maintenance of integrated financial and non-financial systems to support reporting requirements, reviewing alternatives.
  • Manage liaison with internal and external auditors on the execution of plans to address agreed recommendations and to achieve appropriate assurance in doing so.
  • Lead on the development of future-period plans to aid forecasting and the identification & realisation of savings for areas of budget responsibility.
  • Supervise the timely reconciliation of the Urgent Care Division elements of the financial ledger.
  • Responsible for the development and production of monthly reports and dashboard metrics for the Health Board and for the Urgent Care Division as appropriate.
  • Lead on the development of local benchmarking data to inform business decisions and Divisional objectives.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE DEPUTY FINANCE BUSINESS PARTNER
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Fully qualified (CCAB body or CIMA) accountant.
  • Substantial experience of working in a finance department
  • Experience of using Oracle Financials and iProcurement system (or a similar system)
  • Able to demonstrate experience of working in a customer focused manner
  • Experience of working with budget holders
  • Knowledge of NHS finance and procurement processes
  • High degree of knowledge of generally accepted accounting practice.
  • Awareness of audit requirements
  • Be competent in using numerical decision making techniques.
  • Be knowledgeable in financial management theory.
  • External relationships and funding sources in the NHS
