Deputy General Manager



Hours:

40 hours per week over 5 days (including 1 weekend day)


We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy General Manager to support the General Manager in leading one of Manchester's most iconic cultural destinations. This is a key leadership role where you will help drive operational excellence, deliver outstanding visitor experiences, and contribute to the overall strategic direction of the venue.


As Deputy General Manager, you will act as second in command, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, inspiring teams, and stepping in for the General Manager when required. You will work across departments to maintain high standards, drive business growth, and support a hospitality offer that complements a venue known for its powerful storytelling and world-class exhibitions.

Key Responsibilities



Support the General Manager in leading daily operations across cafe, restaurant, and events Ensure excellent food and service delivery in line with brand and client standards Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders Motivate and manage a high-performing, diverse team Uphold health and safety, compliance, and sustainability standards Contribute to commercial growth and achievement of financial goals Assist with marketing initiatives to increase footfall and engagement
