Overview


We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Deputy General Manager to take ownership of Drayton Manor Hotel and Hospitality Suites to ensure the highest standards of service and operational efficiency, leadership, and event execution. This is a floor-based role, with a strong emphasis on food & beverage excellence and requires a hands-on approach to supervising daily operations while fostering a positive work environment for staff and delivering exceptional customer experiences.

You will be the driving force behind the success of our guest experience, directly managing our key operations - Front of House (FOH), Back of House (BOH), Restaurant and Events - ensuring cohesive service delivery across all departments.

Responsibilities



Lead daily operations across both sites with a strong and consistent on-the-floor presence. Report directly into the Hotel General Manager on critical business issues. Directly manage and develop the FOH, BOH, Restaurant & Events Managers. Ensure clear communication, collaboration, and performance alignment between the core operational areas. Oversee service flow and standards, with a keen eye on both guest-facing and behind-the-scenes functions. Act as the senior operational point of contact in the absence of the General Manager. Drive the performance of all F&B outlets including restaurants, bars, and events operations Work closely with our Executive Chef and Events Office to uphold food quality, service standards, and cost control Implement and monitor SOPs across all F&B areas to ensure consistency and efficiency. Support the successful delivery of a wide range of large-scale events including weddings, conferences, and private functions. Collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure every event runs smoothly from planning to execution. Be present during key events, providing direct operational oversight and support. Support the recruitment, training, and development of staff across all departments. Foster a high-performance, guest-first culture among team members. Ensure compliance with all health & safety, food hygiene, and licensing regulations. Support the GM in achieving commercial targets, including revenue, cost control, and guest satisfaction KPIs. Actively engage with guests on the floor to ensure a consistently high-quality experience. Handle complaints and service recovery promptly and professionally.

Experience



Proven experience in a managerial role within the hospitality or food service industry. Strong leadership abilities with a focus on team management and development. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food preparation. Experience in bartending or overseeing beverage services is advantageous. Familiarity with culinary techniques and food production processes is essential. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal skills to foster relationships with staff and customers alike.
