About the Role
As Deputy General Manager, you will work closely with the General Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our food and beverage outlets, which include two bars, a vibrant country pub dining area, and a busy calendar of weddings and private events. You'll take full ownership of the venue in the GM's absence, ensuring seamless service, high operational standards, and an exceptional guest experience at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Hands-on leadership of all F&B operations, including bars, restaurant, and event spaces.
Motivate, develop, and inspire your team through strong communication and a visible management style.
Maintain and elevate operational standards, including cleanliness, presentation, and service delivery.
Monitor and ensure compliance with all Health & Safety and Food Safety legislation and procedures.
Lead by example with a strong floor presence, providing support and guidance during busy service periods.
Assist with financial performance, stock control, rotas, and labour efficiency.
Deliver and oversee staff training and development programmes.
Contribute to business development strategies and work proactively to increase revenue streams.
Work collaboratively with the kitchen and events teams to deliver unforgettable guest experiences.
Ideal Candidate Profile
At least 1 year's experience in a similar role within a busy, quality-led hospitality environment.
A positive, proactive, and professional demeanour with a genuine enthusiasm for hospitality.
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to think quickly and adapt to evolving operational needs.
Confident in using technology and systems--experience with EPOS, OpenTable, and PMS advantageous.
Knowledge of cocktails and drinks trends a bonus.
Current First Aid Certificate, Basic Food Hygiene, and a Personal License are advantageous but not essential (training available).
