Deputy Head, Design & Construction / Sub-region (UK) Senior Project Manager
Location: East London - Full-time, On-site (5 days/week required)

We are partnering exclusively with a major international occupier to recruit an experienced senior leader to serve as Deputy Head of Design & Construction and Sub-region (UK) Senior Project Manager. This high-visibility role sits at the intersection of strategic programme delivery and day-to-day project leadership across the UK, supporting a significant programme of workplace investment and transformation.
Important: Candidates must be based in London and able to work from the office five days per week. The client does not offer relocation or travel reimbursement.
The Opportunity
This role supports the regional Design & Construction lead in shaping and delivering a broad portfolio of fit-out, refurbishment and workplace transformation projects across the UK. You will be accountable for programme integration, project delivery excellence, risk control, and the development of a high-performing project team. The position requires strong technical knowledge of building construction, codes and standards, excellent programming skills and proven experience delivering complex, multi-stakeholder workplace projects.
Key Responsibilities

  • Act as Deputy to the Regional D&C Head and lead UK project delivery where required, providing consistency and best practice across projects.
  • Create and implement execution strategies that reflect market nuances, procurement best practice and resourcing needs to optimise cost, schedule and outcomes.
  • Lead technical due diligence with transactions, engineering and resilience stakeholders.
  • Manage procurement processes and scope development; coordinate technical and commercial review of bids and contracts.
  • Oversee planning and design integration with business and location leads to ensure programme milestones and commercial intents are met.
  • Manage contractors and suppliers, enforce site safety, control risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct regular site visits and supervise construction quality control.
  • Act as the programme integrator with cross-functional partners (Facilities/CAO, Technology, Finance) to ensure technical integration and aligned delivery.
  • Maintain the project management information system as the single source of project data (reporting, approvals, documentation).
  • Prepare monthly reporting, manage budgets and change control, monitor ACR vs. budget and ensure timely financial close-out.
Candidate Profile - Required
  • Undergraduate or professional qualification in construction, engineering, architecture, project management or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience managing all phases of corporate construction and fit-out projects, including multi-site and multi-project portfolios.
  • Direct experience in commercial office projects, workplace planning/programming and building construction standards.
  • Demonstrable fiscal accountability for projects through to post-occupancy.
  • Strong programming, space-planning and technical competency.
  • Proven ability to lead, develop and manage delivery teams and external consultants/contractors.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and industry-standard project management platforms.
Desirable: Experience working across EMEA markets or within large corporate real estate organisations.
