EKC Canterbury College is seeking to appoint a passionate and strategic
Deputy Head of Inclusive Learning

You'll play a crucial role in supporting learners with additional needs, driving high standards, and ensuring our curriculum remains current, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of students and the wider community.
In this role, you will:
Lead on raising standards
of teaching, learning, and assessment within Inclusive Learning
Monitor and analyse key performance indicators
such as retention, achievement, attendance, and student satisfaction
Identify trends and
implement swift, effective interventions
to drive improvements
Support curriculum development
to ensure it meets the needs of students, employers, and the community
Work with the Head of Department and senior leaders to
deliver the strategic plan
for Inclusive Learning
Implement and manage the quality improvement plan
for the area
Use data to
inform decisions
and ensure reporting is accurate, timely, and actionable
Act as a role model,
enhancing the student experience
and promoting a culture of excellence and inclusion

About You
We are seeking to appoint a
highly organised and enthusiastic individual
to join our Inclusive Learning department. Working closely with the Head of Department and wider management team, you will help lead the delivery of study programmes and specialist interventions that support learners with high needs.
This is a key leadership role, ideal for someone with a strong background in SEND provision and a commitment to ensuring every learner can thrive.
In this role, you will:
Oversee the
planning and delivery
of programmes of study and interventions
Support the
academic progression and wraparound care
of high needs learners
Provide
line management
and leadership to a large, diverse team
Conduct
staff appraisals, one-to-one meetings, and teaching observations
Liaise with both
internal teams and external stakeholders
to ensure coordinated support for learners
Contribute to the
continuous improvement
of teaching, learning, and support services

Substantial experience working within
SEND provision
A relevant
teaching qualification
Proven experience in
team leadership and staff development
within an educational setting
