Job description
Are you ready to shape the future of construction and the built environment at Solihull College & University Centre? We're looking for an inspiring Deputy Head of School to support the Director in leading strategic initiatives and ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment. This post will be based at our Woodlands Campus.



In this role, you will be pivotal in managing a dedicated team of teachers, assessors, and technicians, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. You will engage with key employers, manage quality assurance processes, and support curriculum development to meet local, regional, and national needs. Your leadership will ensure effective onboarding, teaching, and assessment strategies that support student success, while also managing financial planning, marketing, and partnerships to drive economic development. Building strong relationships with employers to ensure the curriculum remains responsive to industry needs is a key aspect of this role.


What we're looking for:

We seek a dynamic individual with management experience and a strong vocational background in construction. You should have a relevant degree or significant industry experience, along with a teaching qualification. Proven experience in improving teaching and learning, effective employer engagement, and successful leadership of course teams is essential. Strong communication skills, the ability to motivate staff, and a commitment to safeguarding young people and vulnerable adults are also required. You should be dedicated to achieving high standards, have a flexible approach to work, and demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment.
