We are seeking a Deputy Care Home Manager to join our leadership team someone who will lead by example on the floor, ensuring the highest standards of care and compliance are maintained at all times. Candidate has to have experience in turning around a home.
The Role
This is a hands-on, floor-based management role. You will:
Work alongside care staff daily to guide and support best practice in personal care, medication, and safeguarding.
Oversee daily floor operations, including staff deployment, handovers, and care documentation.
Support the Registered Manager in compliance with CQC standards and internal audits.
Promote person-centred care and positive resident outcomes.
Assist in staff mentoring, supervision, and on-the-job training.
Lead by example to maintain a calm, professional, and caring environment.
About You
We're looking for someone with:
Proven experience in a senior or deputy role within a residential or nursing care setting.
Excellent understanding of CQC standards and day-to-day care home operations.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
A hands-on, compassionate approach to care -- always willing to roll up your sleeves and support the team.
NVQ Level 3 or 5 in Health & Social Care (or working towards).
Ability to work flexibly on a self-employed basis.
