Job Description

Blue Orkids nursery is based within Bedford and is currently looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, and motivated Deputy Setting Leader to join our team. There are 4 homely nurseries (Goldington, London, Wootton and Queens Park).

Our aim is to create a warm and friendly setting and provide a positive, safe, happy, and nurturing approach to childcare. The children in our care receive stimulation and develop from our ethos of a play-based approach to learning through positive experiences.

Deputy Setting Leader who is driven by high quality and excellence and has the ability to lead by example and support the Setting Leader.

The successful candidate will:



? Hold a Level 3 qualification or above in childcare and previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role.

? Hold 2 years post-qualifying experience in a nursery/childcare setting.

? Work 40 hours all year round.

? Have previous leadership or supervisory experience.

? Be

passionate

to work with children.

? Have a desire to learn and grow.

? Work closely alongside the Setting Leader to drive the business forward.

? Make all children and their families feel special every day and part of a large family.

? Work closely alongside their colleagues, supporting and encouraging each other.

? Be imaginative, creative, and not afraid to dress up, be covered in paint or gloop, and most importantly have fun.

Job Duties Summary:



? Work as a deputy leader leading the team.

? Open/close and fully manage the setting in the absence of the Setting Leader.

? Working closely with the Setting Leader taking lead in the running of the setting as a whole.

? Work in partnership with our other 4 sites and private nursery across Bedford and in London.

? To achieve and maintain high standards of care.

? To assist the Setting Leader in effectively leading and managing the staff team including providing day-to-day guidance, supervision, mentoring, and training and support to all colleagues.

? Ensuring the records are updated and maintained at a high standard throughout the setting.

? Adhering to Health and Safety policies, maintaining risk assessments, and relevant documentation.

? Working in partnership with parents/carers to best support children's care and development.

? Liaise with external agencies to assist in obtaining advice, guidance, and intervention to support children and their families within the setting.
