The Role
As a Deputy Manager, you will:
Work in partnership with the Registered Manager to achieve our vision, ethos and therapeutic model.
Develop our service to achieve the best possible outcomes for our children.
Be an effective delegator, motivator, and developer of people, providing guidance, constructive feedback, and resolving conflicts.
Foster a positive, high-energy, and loving home environment.
Seamlessly transition between running shifts in the home and managerial tasks such as rotas, budgets, safety checks, and onboarding new team members.
Take on complex case management, contribute to Care and Education Plans, and build strong relationships with external partners.
Deputise effectively for the Registered Manager, confidently accepting and asking for responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
Safeguarding: Advanced knowledge and skills in managing and reviewing child protection incidents, making safeguarding referrals and notifications to Ofsted, LADO, and social care.
Risk Assessment: Utilise experience, knowledge, policies, and regulation to make sound judgments and provide guidance to colleagues.
Administrative Duties: Attend LAC Reviews, review incidents and coaching sessions, complete monthly manager's monitoring, host Reg 44 independent visitors, update risk assessments, and more.
Leadership: Chair meetings, empower colleagues, review performance, and have open, honest conversations.
Stress Management: Manage and absorb stress to create calm environments for colleagues and children.
Compliance: Ensure adherence to statutory legislation requirements, including Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards, Ofsted.

Requirements
Qualifications: NVQ Level 3/4 Diploma for the Children & Young People's Workforce, with a requirement to achieve Level 5 Diploma.
Experience: Substantial experience working in a Children's Home with a Good/Outstanding OFSTED rating.
Knowledge: Excellent safeguarding and regulatory knowledge.
Skills: Ability to coach and develop colleagues, form positive working relationships, communicate clearly and persuasively, and manage tasks effectively.
Attributes: High level of resilience, emotional maturity, and evidence of a growth mindset.
Working Pattern
Hours: 173 hours per month (approx. 40 per week) on a flexible rota, including some weekends and evenings.
Duties: Available for sleep-in duties if required. Pay includes up to 12 days of On call per month.
