Are you an experienced care professional ready to take the next step in your leadership journey? We're looking for a passionate and driven Deputy Manager with a Care and Wellbeing Focus to join our team and help shape a home where residents are safe, engaged, and truly valued.
In this dual-purpose role, you'll support the Registered Home Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the home while taking lead responsibility for wellbeing, engagement, and person-centered care planning. Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Operations
Lead and support daily operations across the care home
Deputise for the Home Manager during absences
Supervise and develop staff through appraisals and regular support
Champion a culture of kindness, learning, and accountability
Care & Wellbeing Coordination
Oversee person-centred care planning, assessment, and documentation
Lead wellbeing and activity programmes that enrich residents' lives
Build community links and promote social inclusion
Ensure dignity, autonomy, and engagement are at the heart of all care
Quality, Compliance & Audit
Conduct audits, support Quality Assurance, and drive service improvements
Ensure compliance with CQC standards, safeguarding protocols, and health & safety legislation
Manage incident reporting, medication oversight, and care documentation accuracy
People & Resource Management
Coordinate staffing rotas and ensure efficient cover
Support recruitment, training, and performance management
Monitor budget-related activities, ordering, and stock control
Share on-call duties with the Home Manager
About You
Essential:
Experience in a senior role within a care home or adult social care setting
Strong understanding of person-centred care and CQC compliance
Confident leader with excellent communication skills
IT literate and comfortable using digital care systems
Empathetic, organised, and flexible in your approach
Desirable:
Previous experience as a Deputy Manager or Wellbeing Coordinator
NVQ/QCF Level 3 or 5 in Health & Social Care or Leadership
Familiarity with activity planning and engagement strategies
Trained in First Aid, Fire Safety, Safeguarding, and Manual Handling
