We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to oversee operations at our care home facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a background in senior care, nursing, or long-term care environments. This role involves supporting the management team in delivering high-quality assisted living services, ensuring compliance with care standards, and fostering a compassionate environment for residents with diverse needs, including dementia care. The Deputy Manager will play a vital role in coordinating care plans, supervising staff, and maintaining efficient operations within the home.
Responsibilities
Assist the Care Home Manager in daily operational oversight and strategic planning
Supervise and support caregiving staff to ensure delivery of compassionate, resident-centered care
Oversee the development, implementation, and review of personalized care plans for residents with Alzheimer's, dementia, or developmental disabilities
Ensure medication administration is performed accurately and in accordance with regulatory standards
Manage resident activities and promote engagement tailored to individual needs
Monitor compliance with health and safety regulations, including infection control protocols
Support staff training and professional development initiatives
Collaborate with healthcare professionals, families, and external agencies to coordinate comprehensive care services
Assist with budgeting, resource allocation, and maintaining financial accountability within the home
Lead efforts to foster a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for residents and staff
Requirements
Proven experience in senior or long-term care settings such as nursing homes, retirement homes, assisted living facilities, or group homes
Strong background in dementia care, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities
Prior supervisory or management experience within a healthcare or community care environment
Knowledge of care planning processes and medication administration procedures
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide multidisciplinary teams
Familiarity with operations management, budgeting, and financial acumen related to healthcare facilities
Compassionate approach to resident care with excellent communication skills
Relevant qualifications in nursing, social work, or healthcare management are preferred but not mandatory depending on experience
