Your role will involve:

Providing a nurturing environment for our children / young people in which their physical and emotional needs are met by being a role model Assisting the manager to achieving the aims and objectives of the Statement of Purpose Assisting in developing systems in which young people are consulted about the quality of care they receive Supporting and managing the staff to enable them to meet the needs of the children and young people. Ensuring that each young person has an allocated key worker Ensuring that each member of staff is aware of each child's placement plan and their responsibilities for its implementation Attending childcare reviews and planning meetings to provide information and achieve best outcomes for young people Ensuring that resources are allocated appropriately and financial records are accurately maintained Working on a rota system, including weekends and sleep-ins as well as on-call duties, according to the needs of young people Carrying out all other reasonable tasks or as directed by the Registered Manager.
Deputising in the absence of the Registered Manager.

Working as part of a multi-agency team to achieve optimum outcomes for young people. Being instrumental in devising and implementing change in the home. Continually improve services, systems and standards, in conjunction with the Registered Manager and the Senior Leadership team

Experience and Qualifications required:

Diploma / NVQ 3 in Children and Young People Workforce (or equivalent) Working towards Level 5 diploma in Leadership and Management / Children, Young people and Families Manager Knowledge of the Children's Act and other relevant legislation Supervision Skills
Ability to manage teams effectively

Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing

Understanding the needs of BESD children including managing challenging behaviour
Excellent organisational skills

Ability to motivate staff

At least 2 year's relevant professional experience working with young people in a residential setting

A full clean manual driving license held for at least 1 year
