We are looking for a passionate and experienced Deputy Manager to lead our Children's Residential Home providing care for young people with complex emotional, behavioural, and social needs. You will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment where children can thrive and reach their full potential.
As the Deputy Manager, you will be responsible for operational management of the home, ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations, safeguarding requirements, and providing leadership to the care team.
Key Responsibilities
Create and maintain a positive, child-centred culture where children's voices are heard and respected.
Ensure the home is a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for all residents.
Oversee care planning, risk assessments, incident reporting, and placement reviews.
Build strong relationships with children, their families, social workers, external agencies, and other professionals.
Manage the staffing rotas, recruitment, training, and performance management.
Requirements
NVQ/QCF Level 3/Level 4 Diploma in Working with Young People
Willingness to work towards achieving Level 5 in Management
Minimum 1year experience managing or supervising in a children's residential setting.
Proven leadership and staff management skills.
Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
Eligibility to work in the UK.
Desirable:
Experience working with children with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD), trauma, or SEN.
