Deputy Manager
to join a quality children's residential service in Wales. This is a critical leadership role that requires you to be an expert in the
Children's Home Regulations for Wales (RISCA)
and dedicated to staff development and safeguarding.

The Role: Your Impact and Key Responsibilities
As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Manager and be instrumental in the smooth, compliant, and high-quality running of the home. This role also involves
deputising across multiple homes
when the Manager is absent, requiring strong leadership and flexibility.
Operational Leadership:
Confidently
deputise
for the Registered Manager, overseeing daily operations and administration (including HR, finance assistance, and auditing).
Regulatory Compliance:
Act as the
RISCA Authority
, ensuring all practices, policies, and staff duties are fully compliant with the
Children's Home Regulations for Wales
and current sector judgments.
Staff Mentorship & Development:
Provide effective
supervision, mentorship, and training
to staff. You will be responsible for creating and managing
staff rotas
and fostering a culture of high performance and accountability.
Safeguarding:
Champion best practice in
safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
, ensuring an open, non-discriminatory environment.
Quality Assurance:
Manage administrative requirements, audit young person and staff files, and ensure all care, placement plans, and reviews are delivered within required timescales.

Permanent, Full-Time
Hours:
40 hours per week
, based on a rotational shift pattern.

Requirements
QualificationQCF Level 5 Diploma
in Leadership and Management for Children's Health and Social Care (or equivalent Level 4/5 relevant to Children & YP).
Experience
Minimum 2 years of management experience
in a children's residential care setting. Must have experience
acting up/deputising
for a Registered Manager.
Regulation
Expert understanding
of
RISCA regulations
and current sector best practice.
Registration
Current registration with
Social Care Wales (SCW)
and registered with the
DBS Update Service
.
Driving
Must hold a
UK Manual Drivers Licence
Desirable Skills:
Experience working with young people with complex needs, including
ESBD/CSE/Self-Harm
and
Mental Health
challenges.
