Job Description

Deputy Manager for Breakfast and After School Club required for November in East Grinstead. Closing date 15th October 2025.

Hours of work:

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 7.00 - 9.15 am

and Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 2.45 - 6.15 pm

Main duties include:

Assisting in the day to day running of the club and deputising for the Manager in their absence Assist with planning, preparing, and delivering quality play opportunities within a safe and caring environment. Assist with planning, resourcing and providing of healthy meals for the children Assist with administration, including taking responsibility for registers Providing comprehensive care for the children including collecting them from school and delivering them safely to parents or carers. Setting up the play space including moving furniture and play equipment. Providing refreshments and ensuring that hygiene, health, and safety standards are met. Administering first aid when necessary. Consulting with children and involving them in planning activities. Facilitating good communication with all members of the organisation, parents, and schools. Undertaking appropriate and relevant training. Keeping the work environment healthy, safe, and secure.

Person specification:

Essential:

Motivated and enthusiastic

Experieence of working with children, ideally in an education or early years setting

Good communication

Very good literacy and numeracy skills

Ability to work well with children and adults

Willing to take responsibility and has a "can do" attitude

Committed to the needs of the children

Has the ability to learn from experiences and challenges

Must live local to East Grinstead RH19 to enable short notice cover for other staff absence or sick leave.

Preferred but not essential:

Level 2/3 childcare qualification

First aid, safeguarding and food hygiene trained (training could be given)
