We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Deputy Care Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the overall management of our organisation, ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently. This position requires strong communication skills, a background in residential/dementia care, and the ability to develop and implement care plans for residents. The Deputy Manager will work closely with staff, residents and their family to foster a nurturing environment.
Responsibilities
Assist the Manager in overseeing daily operations and staff management.
Communicate effectively with team members, residents, and external stakeholders.
Develop and implement care plans tailored to the needs of vulnerable residents.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the facility.
Drive initiatives to improve service quality and operational efficiency.
Support staff training and development to enhance team performance.
Liaising with multi-disciplinary team (MDT) meetings.
Address any issues or concerns raised by residents or staff promptly.
Coordinating employee 3 monthly supervisions and training.
Assist the facilities manager with disciplinary investigations/hearings in liaison with HR.
Liaising with discharge co-ordinators and social workers, ensuring that vacancies are filled as soon as possible.
Coordinate hospital appointments
Attending Local Authority provider meetings
Attending management meetings.
Supporting the health and safety officer.
Qualifications
Proven experience in a managerial role, within a care home or similar setting is essential.
Strong IT skills for managing records and communication systems.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Experience working with vulnerable adults, demonstrating an understanding of their needs.
Ability to develop effective care plans based on individual requirements.
A valid driving licence is preferred for potential off-site responsibilities.
