Role Summary
As the Deputy Manager you will lead the management of our Leeds CRS women's contract, demonstrating adept leadership in overseeing the delivery of specialised services. You will be responsible for managing our dedicated team, including overseeing specialist key workers subcontracted to us and working across West Yorkshire.
A key aspect of your responsibilities involves providing support to the Centre Manager and contributing to the broader organizational goals. You will actively engage in the development of partnerships with Probation colleagues and other service providers, fostering a collaborative environment that enhances the comprehensive support provided within our women's centers.
Operational excellence is at the core of your role, where you will play a vital part in managing the delivery of intensive support services. Your role will empower the team to support the presenting needs related to accommodation, finance, health, wellbeing, motivation, family and relationships, accessing services, and building confidence and self-esteem.
This role presents a compelling opportunity to lead and contribute to the holistic trauma informed support of women within the criminal justice system, aligning with Together Women's commitment to excellence in service delivery.
Key Accountabilities:
Efficiently line manage direct reports, ensuring regular support, supervision, performance review, case management, and training in line with TW policies.
Lead the Criminal Justice specialist team, ensuring quality of service and interventions are delivered, including identifying and coordinating staff training for emerging trends.
Collaborate with the Centre Manager to oversee the Women's Centre and its services, ensuring their ongoing suitability for service delivery.
Operate within an integrated care model involving Health, Criminal Justice System, and Social Care professionals.
Implement and encourage feedback and evaluation processes, promoting quality assurance among team members and service users.
Contribute to necessary measurement and monitoring systems including the R&M MoJ monitoring and TW's internal case management system.
Maintain records in compliance with policies on client files, finance, and administration.
Utilize feedback for continuous service development and update personal skills for quality service delivery.
Lead the delivery of groups and identify new groups in consultation with Probation Practitioners across West Yorkshire to diversify service offerings.
Foster positive working relationships with Probation Practitioners, enhancing outcomes for referred women through one-to-one interactions and regular representation at PDU team meetings.
Proactively manage the customer data recording system, ensuring the West Yorkshire Justice Team's competence and serving as a reference point for issues.
Take charge of customer feedback processes, devise innovative facilitation methods, support and train the wider West Yorkshire team, and collate responses for implementation.
Support the development of community and added value services within the centers.
Lead on the engagement, development and management of volunteers within the centre.
Represent Together Women in locality-based multi-agency groups and broader networks.
Role Requirements
Essential Experience
Experience of the delivery of services for women
Management experience including Supervision, training & development of staff and or volunteers.
Accurate maintenance of contractual working practices and procedures
Knowledge and understanding of the challenges faced by women, the pathways into offending, and the impact this can have on their life chances and outcomes
Experience of working with women within a support role/ frontline capacity, ideally with experience of strengths-based working and/or trauma-informed approaches
Experience assessing needs and risks, and translating these into a person-centred support and safety plan
Experience of case management and recording, or equivalent record keeping experience
Experience of building positive partnerships with other agencies and experience/an understanding of the benefits of collaborative problem solving
Strong IT skills (PC literate and competent in using MS Office)
GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths & English - Grade C or above
Enhanced Level 1 vetting
Desirable Requirements
Relevant NVQ or equivalent at Level 3 or 4
Experience & competence in report writing
Advocacy experience or skills
Experience/ an understanding of delivering interventions or programmes which help women recover from complex trauma, develop strategies to overcome obstacles and challenges, and build their skills
Experience/ an understanding of trauma responsive support for women
Experience of group work
