We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Deputy Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring the highest standards of care, safety, and education. They will act as a key role model for staff, helping to lead and inspire the team to deliver outstanding early years practice. The ideal applicant will possess a passion and strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for young children and an eagerness to take initiative. This role involves engaging with children in a nurturing manner, promoting their academic and social development, and creating an inclusive classroom atmosphere. The successful applicant will possess a Level 3 Qualification in early childhood education, possess a caring, warm nature and be able to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
Responsibilities
Support the Nursery Manager in the daily operational management of the nursery.
Lead and motivate staff to provide high-quality childcare and education in line with the EYFS framework.
Ensure all children's individual needs are met and that safeguarding and welfare requirements are maintained.
Contribute to curriculum planning, staff training, and development initiatives.
Contribute to the fulfilment and teaching of the curriculum.
Teach and engage with children according to their interests as well as through curriculum-based learning.
Maintain accurate records and support with inspections and audits (Ofsted, health & safety, etc.).
Build strong partnerships with parents, carers, and the local community.
Step up and manage the nursery in the Manager's absence.
Manage classroom behaviour and create a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment.
Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, behaviour, and any concerns.
Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends and methodologies.
Drive initiatives that promote inclusivity and respect for diversity within the classroom.
Qualifications
A recognised Level 3 qualification in Early Childhood Education or equivalent.
Leadership skills with the ability to manage classroom dynamics effectively.
Excellent communication skills.
Previous experience in childcare or nursery settings.
A genuine passion for working with children and facilitating their growth both academically and socially.
