We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Deputy Manager to join our team in providing exceptional care within our Ofsted Registered Children's Home, working under a dual Dual Registered Manager with young people with Autism and Learning disabilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in working in children's residential Care, with a passion for enhancing the quality of life for our young people. As the Deputy Manager, you will play a crucial role in supervising daily operations, ensuring adherence to care plans, and supporting the overall management of the home.

Responsibilities
Assist the Manager in overseeing daily operations of the home, ensuring high standards of care are maintained.
Supervise and support care staff in their duties, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Develop and implement individualised care plans for young people, ensuring their needs are met effectively.
Administer medications as required and ensure compliance with medication administration protocols, audit medication systems within the home.
Conduct regular assessments of young people's health and wellbeing, adjusting care plans as necessary in agreement with the manager and local authority.
Provide leadership and guidance to staff, promoting professional development and adherence to best practices in children's care.
Ensure all documentation related to young people's care is accurate and up to date.
Liaise with families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to coordinate comprehensive care for young people.
Skills and Experience
Level 3/4 qualified in Residential Childcare
Level 5 is desirable but not essential, MY3 Limited offer this qualification to all Deputy Managers
Strong understanding of Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
Good understanding of Health and Safety at work
Proven ability to develop effective care plans tailored to individual young people's needs.
Excellent supervisory skills with a focus on leadership and team development.
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with young people, families, professionals and staff.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple responsibilities.
You will be expected to be a good role model; embrace rights, encourage healthy lifestyles, to support young people in having all their health needs met, promote wellbeing, help young people develop safe decision making and work in a manner that ensures they are safe.
Resilience, good humour, empathy, stamina, and a good understanding of children, including but not required and understanding of young people with autism, learning disabilities and associated conditions.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years experience of working in residential childcare setting
Minimum of 1 year's experience in a senior, supervisory role.
Personality
- approachable, good listener, honest, trustworthy, reliable and fun to be with. Must have the ability to establish professional relationships with children, to develop trust, to understand and recognise boundaries but know also how to relate to children and how to play.
Additional requirements:
Ability to undertake sleep in duty where required
Be both physically and emotionally fit
Be flexible in response to changing needs within the service.
Be a Driver with car and hold a clean licence
