Your Role as Deputy Manager

Working alongside the Registered Manager, you'll play a key role in leading the team and maintaining outstanding care standards. You'll be a role model for best practice, a supportive leader for staff, and a trusted presence for the children in our care.

Your responsibilities will include:

Leadership & Team Management:

Supervise, guide, and develop residential childcare staff while fostering a positive team culture.

Care Planning & Implementation:

Oversee personalised care plans that meet Ofsted requirements and support each young person's growth.

Safeguarding & Welfare:

Act as safeguarding lead in the Manager's absence, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children and staff.

Compliance & Quality Assurance:

Support inspections, uphold regulations, and drive continuous improvement.

Professional Development:

Engage in structured training and leadership development to prepare for the Registered Manager role.
Fast-Track Progression to Registered Manager

We'll provide a tailored development plan to help you confidently transition into a Registered Manager position, including:

Comprehensive induction

covering compliance, HR, safeguarding, budgeting, and home management.

Shadowing & Leadership Development

alongside the Registered Manager in decision-making and operational leadership.

Advanced management training

, including completing your Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (if not already held).

Final review & transition

, supported by senior leadership, into your Registered Manager role.
What You'll Bring

Minimum 2 years' experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a children's residential care setting NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) and willingness to work towards Level 5 if not already held Strong leadership, safeguarding knowledge, and understanding of residential childcare legislation Compassion, resilience, and motivation to progress into senior leadership A genuine passion for supporting young people to reach their potential
