THIS IS A FULL TIME POSITION - Monday to Friday - All year round
The post holder will manage a team consisting of qualified, non qualified staff and volunteers when the manager is unavailable.
The Deputy Manager must manage their time effectively, planning appropriate times to complete paperwork.
The Deputy Manager must be professional and in support of any decision that Kiddywinks makes at all times and must endeavour to portray this to the team.
The Deputy Manager will support the manager in running the nursery on a day to day basis and will take the lead at times.
Will attend a weekly Senior team meeting.
Will work closely with the senior team to ensure day to day provision, staff practice and policies are maintained.
The post holder will be expected to undertake any other duties which are within the range and scope of the post.
The post holder will be expected to promote the Equal Opportunities Policy at all times and to carry out their responsibilities with due regard to this and all other policies and procedures.

Will inform Sarah of any concerns that become apparent before any steps are taken.

Will commit to undertaking any training and professional development that is suggested by Sarah, suggesting and training for other staff members that may be relevant to their roles.

Support the Manger in running the nursery on a day-to-day basis and will take the lead at times when necessary. Becoming responsible person in the Managers absence.
Will work closely with the senior staff members to ensure day to day provision, staff practice and policies are maintained
Inform Sarah of any concerns that become apparent before any steps are taken.
Show regard to all additional needs including learning and development delay, gifted and talented, EAL, behaviour management, physical disability, grief and separation anxiety.
Organise staff deployment throughout the setting (lunch breaks, cleaning jobs, start and end of day placement)
Ensuring ratios are upheld in the managers absence.
Staff development and next steps.
New staff inductions, alongside the manager.
Oversee staff training. Communication with mentors and managers.
Deputy Safeguarding Lead.
Attend all staff events and meetings.
Overseeing daily routines throughout the setting.
Attend a monthly senior team meeting.
Commit to additional training and professional development.
Managing medium level staff grievances or 2nd time offences of low level.
Carrying out any staff disciplinaries if the manager is unavailable.
Ensure cleaning jobs are completed to a high standard.

Provide experiences and activities that are challenging but achievable.

Meeting requirements for the observation, assessment and recording of children's development.
Sharing knowledge gained with other practitioners and parents.
Organising time and material resources.
Using creative and practical skills to prepare learning materials
Attending in service training.
Organising and attending outings
General care of children to include Changing nappies, Feeding, Cleaning and all other essential needs
Keeping the nursery in a clean and tidy state.
To ensure confidentiality at all times.
To attend regular staff meetings.
Qualifications and Skills
A minimum of a Level 3 in Childcare and previous relevant experience within an Early Years Setting.
Position to start October 2025
