to join us at our new home based in the vibrant area of
Plymouth
.
Our New Home is for young people aged 16+ and is home to up to four young people in a supported living setting.
You will support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home and continue the development of a team of Senior Residential Support Workers who help and support our young people who may have experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences and trauma, using our trauma-informed practices, which are embedded within our culture.
The Five Rivers leadership team will invest in your progression as a professional in the childcare sector. We source and deliver up-to-date training opportunities and prioritise and discuss your personal development goals to ensure you get the most out of your career.
Our children may have had many adults come in and out of their lives, often adding to their trauma. Therefore, we are looking for a committed and dedicated Deputy Manager. You'll be a natural at building a rapport with children and someone full of empathy, so you can understand and relate to the young people you work with.
You will need to have at least two years of experience being in a leadership role working in a Children's Residential Setting, hold your level 3 in Residential Childcare and if not already achieved, be willing to work towards your Level 5 leadership and management. You will also have a proven track record with Ofsted and an understanding of the legislative framework and SCCIF.
Due to the location of the Home, a Driving Licence is essential.
Hours
On average, you will work 39 hours a week. As a Deputy, typically, you will be covering day shifts between the hours of 8 am -10 pm
Flexible shift pattern of 39 hours, including sleep-ins to meet the needs of the service. There will be an aim for you to work up to 50% of these hours 'off rota' where you are additional to staff on shift. The purpose is to support the effective running of the home and leading from the front. This will include time for paperwork and to deliver supervision and coaching.
After settling in, you will be required to do two weekly sleep-ins, for which you receive an additional 50 payment per sleep-in.
Generally, the shift pattern is two on four off depending on the needs of the home; this will not be the case during your training period, where you will be required to work 9 am -5 pm Monday to Friday with some travel expected.
