Shift work is expected in this role, the rota pattern is 2 days on / 4 days off.

40,069.00 per annum (15.45 per hour + 70 per night sleep in rate + on-call payment)
About Us:
Vantage Children's Services deliver bespoke and specialist therapeutic care to children and young people, with a multi-disciplinary team of Psychologists, Head Teacher, qualified Social Worker and very experienced Register Manager.

'The Child Psychology Service'
delivering a tailored package of therapeutic care to each child. You will receive specialist therapeutic training and be supported by the Clinical Psychologist through 1:1 sessions and group reflective practice. Deputy Manager - Job Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the care and well-being of children in our brand new, purpose built, therapeutic home, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for up to 3 children & young people.
The Deputy Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of the home, maintaining a high standard of care. Ability and willingness to work within the therapeutic model and be guided by the clinical team is required.
Career development to the role of Registered Manager following probation is an opportunity of the role.
Deputy Manager - Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Use life skills to profoundly impact children's lives, including those who require high levels of supervision and support
- Deliver the therapeutic model and support as directed
- Ensure the welfare and care of each child while providing guidance and support to residential workers
- Provide compassionate, therapeutic care to children with EBD needs and support in their daily routines
- Lead shifts, supervise staff, follow placement plans, and support education
- Share the on-call rota alongside the Registered Manager
- Assist the Registered Manager with OFSTED inspections / Reg 44 Visits
- Assist the Registered Manager with external and internal audits
- Ensure all staff receive a thorough induction and oversee continuation training
- Monitor finances and ensure budgets are managed effectively
- Assume responsibility for running the home in the Manager's absence
- Be available for on-call duties as required
- Safely manage all risks in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Effectively communicate daily plans with the team
- Review and maintain young people's care plans and associated documentation, using effective computer and IT equipment
Deputy Manager - Job Requirements:
- Residential Children's Care: 3 - 5 years (preferred)
- Understanding of therapeutic care for children (trauma informed)
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent qualification
- Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management or prepared to work towards
- Flexible and can work unsociable shift patterns
- Understanding of current legislation (e.g., Children's Homes Regulations 2015, including quality standards)
- Role model prepared to become an active member of our committed team
- Represent the Manager professionally in meetings and other contexts
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
- Good computer skills
- Aspirations to progress to Registered Manager position
- Hold a full driving licence
