The Deputy Manager is responsible for the full day-to-day running of the Dementia Community, leading and managing the operations and the staff team, and providing strong leadership and inspiration. The role focusses on ensuring the highest standards of person centered care, compliance, hospitality and business performance are achieved.
The successful candidate will have previous experience working within a Care Home environment, proven at delivering high quality care and meeting Management targets. This is a Residential care position suitable for candidates that has achieved Level 5 in Leadership and Management and who may have achieved a Level 3 in Dementia Care.
Duties & Responsibilities
Assist the Care Home Manager in regularly reviewing systems in which to monitor residents (and their relatives) satisfaction levels, service delivery, staffing, quality, budgeting, information management and health & safety.
Deliver high quality, evidence based clinical and holistic care, incorporating meaningful activities for people living with Dementia.
Maintain up to date knowledge of best practice and developments within Dementia and person-centred care.
Oversee the management of the staff within the community, including recruitment, induction, supervision, rota's, and holiday entitlement.
Ensure the service maintains up to date and accurate records in accordance with the Care Quality Commission standards.
Service Delivery & Management Duties
-Manage the Electronic Care Planning system, ensuring that this is completing on a daily basis, all personal interactions are logged according to each individuals care plan needs. The Care Plans are reviewed monthly on Resident of the Day process or immediate should their needs change.
Oversee the assessments of prospective residents' needs and produce appropriate care plans and risk assessments including the Mental Health Act associated paperwork.
Take the lead role in welcoming new residents to the care home and ensuring that a high level of customer satisfaction is met.
Conduct resident care assessments, coordinate and chair resident/family meetings and communication.
Assist the Care Home Manager in managing and reporting on occupancy levels and budgets.
Build and maintain positive working relationships with external health professionals and other agencies including CQC, Clinical Commissioning Groups, local NHS teams, GPs and Pharmacists.
Report issues or concerns about quality of service delivery to the Care Home Manager and act on issues as agreed and as appropriate.
