Deputy Manager



At MCCP, children are at the heart of everything we do, so we are currently looking for a strong Deputy Manager to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in. From a fairy godmother one day to firefighter the next, no two days are ever the same.

The role requires a strong leadership, communication and organizational skills, as well as a deep understanding of childhood education and development.

Key responsibilities



Oversee the running of the Foundation Learning to include the planning and delivery of the curriculum, ensuring it meets the individual needs of each child

Designated Safeguarding Lead

Main point of contact for Mudiad Meithrin Croesi'r Bont as part of becoming a Welsh language setting

To plan and deliver effective daily management of the setting, in accordance with policies and procedures, relevant legislation, plus local authority and CIW requirements.

To ensure the nursery complies with the early Years Foundation Learning Statutory Framework.

Lead, motivate, and support a dedicated team of nursery staff; ability to motivate and manage a team, experience of delegating tasks. To foster a positive, collaborative working environment where every team member feels valued and supported;

Oversee staff performance, conduct regular supervisions/appraisals, and provide ongoing development opportunities;

To deputise for the manager in their absence

Ensure effective communication within the team, encouraging feedback, ideas, and a team-oriented culture;

Ensure the nursery provides a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for all children;

Promote the wellbeing, safety, and emotional development of the children.

Ensure compliance with safeguarding procedures and policies to always protect the children.

Manage daily operations, including attendance records, health and safety checks, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Ensure the nursery is well-equipped with resources, supplies, and educational materials.

Adhering to Health and Safety policies, maintaining risk assessments, and relevant documentation.

Working in partnership with parents/carers to best support children's care and development.

Liaise with external agencies to assist in obtaining advice, guidance, and intervention to support children and their families within the setting.

To undertake any additional duties which are relevant to the post in accordance with the guidelines of the Management Committee, e.g. responsibility for additional needs, first aid, and health and safety

Qualifications



The Foundation Learning Leader should have an appropriate recognised early years qualification at level 3 or above and relevant experience to take charge of The Foundation Learning or example:

A Diploma or a Degree in Early Years Education A Diploma or NVQ Level 4 in Children's Care, Learning and Development CACHE / NNEB Diploma Level 3 CACHE Diploma in Early Years Care and Education (Welsh medium) Level 3 Diploma or Level 5 in Children's Care, Learning and Development NVQ Level 3 in Early Years Care and Education / Children's Care, Learning and Development Another relevant qualification

Welsh Language



You should be fluent in Welsh or a learner who has attained a high level of proficiency in Welsh
