Deputy Nursery Manager

Blossom Tree Children's Nursery - Gilmerton is a small, 32 place nursery supporting children 0 to school age. The nursery has been operational for 14 years and currently holds 4 x Good grading on the Care Inspectorate.
Candidates will be applying to join and help lead a small and friendly staff team and support the Nursery in the day to day running.
This is a permanent full time position for 40 hrs per week and you will be working a mix of being supernumerary and room based when required.
In order to be considered for the role of Deputy Nursery Manager, you will need:
A passionate and positive "Can do" attitude.
Provide mentoring and leadership to the nursery staff team.
Deputy experience, or room leader experience from a high performing setting looking for the next step up.
Experience as a key worker within an early years setting.
Good understanding of Realising the Ambition: Being me, Curriculum for Excellence and Setting the Table.
A full and relevant level 3 childcare qualification. Ideally hold or be working / planning to work towards your childhood practice award at SCQF level 9.
Knowledge and understanding of key legislation related to childcare and education.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
A positive attitude, good initiative, confident and approachable for children, staff and families.
The role of Deputy Nursery Manager will include:
Promoting positive relationships with parents, children and colleagues
Ensuring health, safety and well-being of the children at all times
Supporting and working closely with the Nursery Manager and wider Management team with all tasks - mentoring and leadership is a key area of the role.
