We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our private day nursery. The successful candidate will support the management team in delivering high-quality early childhood education and care, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. Duties
Assist the Manager in overseeing daily operations of the nursery
Support the planning and implementation of educational programmes tailored to children's developmental needs
Supervise and mentor nursery staff and ensure team adherence to policies and procedures
Maintain effective communication with parents and carers regarding children's progress and centre activities
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and safeguarding regulations at all times
Organise staff rotas, manage attendance records, and support recruitment processes
Contribute to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging environment for children and families
Requirements
Proven management and leadership skills within a childcare or nursery setting
Experience working with children, ideally within early childhood education or childcare environments
Strong understanding of child development principles and nursery best practices
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Ability to lead, motivate, and support a team of childcare professionals
A full and relevant childcare qualification
Experience with children's activities, behaviour management, and safeguarding procedures
Valid driving licence is advantageous due to location and for attending external meetings or events
