Deputy Nursery Manager

. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and driven individual to play a key role in the continued growth and quality of our setting.
About the Role:
As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Nursery Manager to provide effective leadership and ensure the delivery of a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children, families, and staff. You will not be based in a specific playroom, allowing you to provide operational support across the nursery and act as the named suitable person in charge when required.
You will collaborate with the Nursery Manager to maintain strong partnerships with children and families, ensuring a warm and inclusive environment where every child can thrive. You will also lead by example, coaching and mentoring our Early Years Practitioners to provide high-quality learning experiences guided by

Key Responsibilities:
Role model and support the delivery of rich, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning opportunities tailored to each child's individual needs
Work in partnership with the Nursery Manager to foster strong relationships with families and the wider community
Support, mentor, and inspire staff across the setting, including leading regular 1:1s, appraisals, and professional development opportunities
Promote a positive, inclusive team culture, ensuring staff feel valued, supported, and empowered
Demonstrate a strong and up-to-date understanding of
early years practices

policies
,
procedures
, and
national guidance
Ensure the setting provides stimulating, consistent indoor and outdoor learning environments
Take the lead on safeguarding as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of all children and staff
Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory and legislative requirements
What We're Looking For:
Must already hold, or be willing to work towards, a qualification that meets the
SSSC registration requirements for managers in day care of children services in Scotland
Proven role within an Early Years setting
Strong leadership qualities including
confidence, adaptability, excellent communication, decision-making, and the ability to motivate and inspire a team
A deep understanding of Curriculum for Excellence, Realising the Ambition, and current best practice in early years care and education
Passionate about high-quality early learning and delivering excellent outcomes for children and families
