Deputy Manager
to join our brand-new nursery. This is a rare chance to play a key role in establishing a new setting from the very start - helping to build a warm, nurturing, and inspiring environment where children can flourish.
As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Nursery Manager to lead a passionate team, ensuring the highest standards of care, education, and safety are delivered throughout the nursery. You'll be instrumental in shaping our ethos, supporting staff development, and creating an environment where both children and practitioners can thrive.
Responsibilities
Support the Nursery Manager in the smooth day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and safeguarding standards.
Help establish and maintain the vision, values, and high standards of our new settingfrom the ground up.
Lead and inspire a team of practitioners, promoting a positive and collaborative working culture.
Oversee the planning and implementation of engaging activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
Build strong, supportive relationships with children, parents, and staff, maintaining excellent communication at all times.
Monitor and evaluate staff performance, supporting training, mentoring, and professional development.
Ensure that all health, safety, and safeguarding requirements are met, creating a safe and nurturing environment for all.
Take responsibility for the nursery in the absence of the Nursery Manager.
Contribute to the nursery's continuous improvement and success through innovative ideas and a proactive approach.
Experience
Proven experience in a senior or supervisory role within a nursery or early years setting is essential.
A recognised qualification in Early Childhood Education or equivalent (Level 3 or above) is required.
Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
Excellent knowledge of the EYFS framework, safeguarding, and Ofsted requirements.
Outstanding communication and organisational skills, both verbal and written.
A valid driving licence is advantageous for off-site visits or external events.
A passion for early years education and the drive to help build and develop a brand-new nurseryinto a centre of excellence.
